Marketing: are you asking the right questions?

When you’re growing a business, you need a lot of good, strong facts at your fingertips.

I’m thinking about this because I’m due to meet this week with a marketing consultant who has been doing some in-depth research and analysis for Kaleidoscope.

She’s interviewed all of my clients, and I’m really looking forward to hearing the results of that. I surveyed them last autumn, but I know having a third party asking the questions, for the specific purpose of growing and marketing my business, will bring in some powerful data. I believe in getting real answers so I can make real decisions about moving the business forward based on solid management information.

Virtual Assistants: What to do when it's time to leave a client

This is my last day with a particular client, and I’m looking forward to a very clean, amicable parting with plenty of goodwill on both sides.

Leaving a client isn’t easy – we develop a strong sense of loyalty to the people who give us the business we’ve worked so hard for. It’s one of the many shifts in attitude we have to make when we go from being an employee to a business owner – learning to choose who we work for.

Moving on releases your business to take on clients that are right for where you want to go, and make space for new opportunities.
