I’m delighted to report I’ve just joined the Alternative Board.

It’s a professional coaching and consultancy network, comprising business leaders who get together monthly to share tips and help solve particular problems in each others’ business.

It’s well structured, quite formal and very practical and results-focused, so I’m really looking forward to getting on board with it. As we propel Kaleidoscope to its next stage in business growth, I’m keen to apply a bit more pressure to myself to set goals and be accountable for working towards them!

The Alternative Board is a place to receive credible advice from a broad range of businesspeople with all sorts of different backgrounds and approaches. We’re asked to go in with specific business challenges each month, and share our progress as we go along.

As a result of joining the Alternative Board, I’m now moving away from one-to-one coaching for the time being. The coaching has been great, but I really believe the Alternative Board’s programme of peer support is going to be very helpful. I’ve learned the value of that through Forward Ladies’ FEE network, and I will be carrying on with FEE alongside the Alternative Board.

The peer support also means I’ll get the chance to contribute and help other people with their business challenges – all of which will help me learn and broaden my own business skills. I’m looking forward to seeing what I can both contribute and receive.
