We’re raising glasses to the little one’s birthday at the new Kaleidoscope headquarters in York, which is also our new home, as we moved house last week.
Today is my first day back at work and, apart from a few technical hiccups, both myself and the business are settling in well.
It hardly seems real that almost four years ago to the day I left my job as PA to the finance director at Northern Rail in York. That happened on a Friday in late March and on the following Monday, Kaleidoscope was launched.
Fortunately we’re past the sleepless nights stage of those first years, when the business needed a lot of my time and attention and I spent a lot of my time worrying about its welfare.
Kaleidoscope is now very much up on its feet, with a good circle of friends and clients around it. I can leave it in the care of someone else for a day or two and, with some careful outsourcing to trusted associates, I’ve even managed to leave it behind once or twice and take a holiday!
I’m hoping to make Kaleidoscope even more independent of me very soon, to enable me to pursue some personal goals over the next year or two.
In the meantime, all I have to do is raise a glass to all the fantastic suppliers, colleagues, clients, friends and family who have supported the Kaleidoscope journey so far – and here’s to continuing onwards and upwards!
