All tasks that are important but not urgent should be date activated. If you are a lover of Microsoft Outlook (like me) then this can be very effectively done within the task function.
Drag and drop emails
If you receive an email which you need to action, rather than leave it to clog up your inbox you can simply highlight the email, right click on to it and drag it to your tasks. At this point you can choose whether to copy it as task with text, task with attachment or move as task with attachment. You can then set both start and completion dates, categorise it and create a recurring task for things that need to be done regularly. In fact you can do pretty much anything you want within the task to make your life easier!
Create a new task
If you want to create a task from scratch you just need to ‘click to add a new task’ and enter the task name, dates and recurrences etc - it really is as simple as that!
